Hear from our Students / Graduates
At age 30, after working for 7 years as a quality/regulatory analyst, I decided to further my education by pursuing an MBA in the field of Banking & Finance from MDIS, in collaboration with Bangor University. At MDIS, I got a chance to learn from some extremely knowledgeable lecturers who are highly experienced in their respectively fields. I truly believe that hard work and a positive attitude make dreams come true as they did for me, when I bagged the Gold Award for being the Top Student of the Year.
As an international student, MDIS proved to be the right choice for me as it provided the platform for me to learn and understand the International Financial Markets. It gives me immense pleasure to announce that I am currently working as a Financial Services Consultant at AIA Singapore, which was a result of the knowledge and exposure I gained from studying at MDIS.
I highly recommend MDIS to those who desire to learn and succeed in their careers, provided that they stay committed and passionate towards achieving their professional dreams.

Frequently Asked Question
We live in an information era, with more ways to access and consume data than ever before. A diploma in mass communication will teach you how to distribute information through a number of methods. It entails learning how to successfully disseminate news, entertainment, branding, knowledge, and guidance through various communication channels such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, advertisements, and the internet.
The main fields involved in mass communication are advertising, broadcasting, journalism and public relations. Advertising is a method of communicating with consumers on a product or service by defining the target demographic and reaching out to them with a well-designed ad campaign. Broadcasting is a type of communication that employs video and audio content across several platforms. Journalism focuses on collecting and distributing information to the general public via newspapers, magazines, websites or TV. Public relations refers to the strategic communication between an organization and the public and usually involves cultivating a positive reputation for the organization or individual.
A diploma in mass communication provides the framework for students to understand the foundations and key concepts of mass media. The knowledge and skills that are learned can be applied to any communication path taken by students. Students looking to pursue work in a conventional media field such as advertising, public relations, or journalism would be able to apply what they have learned to a variety of jobs. As a student is exposed to a variety of areas through the mass communication diploma, they have the flexibility to utilize their skills and knowledge in many industries. Other fields that students can work in include human resources, writing and publishing, event planning, and sales.
Aside from the technical skills and knowledge on how to navigate the mass media, students will also be able to learn valuable lessons in how to work collaboratively and independently as required. Students will also become global thinkers who have a good grasp on social issues and the adaptability to navigate through any circumstances. Students develop the skills to multitask and work on multiple components at the same time. Last but not least, students gain confidence and versatility to take on spontaneous tasks.
