Programme Objective

  • The development of an understanding of the structure and functioning of banking and the financial services industry, and an appreciation of the economic contribution of the global financial system and its impact upon individuals, organisations, markets, the wider economy and the environment.
  • The development of a range of specific knowledge and skills concerned with the provision and analysis of information for a variety of decision-making, accountability, managerial, ethical, and regulatory and resource allocation purposes.
  • The development of a range of specific knowledge and skills concerned with the provision and analysis of information for a variety of decision-making, accountability, managerial, ethical, and regulatory and resource allocation purposes, with particular emphasis on the analysis and interpretation of data.
  • The development of understanding of the design and operation of financial systems, structures and instruments, including the pricing of financial assets, the measurement and management of risk, and the possibilities for value-maximising behaviour by households and firms.
  • The development of improved self-awareness and personal development appropriate to graduates with the potential to progress into professional careers in accountancy or in the financial sector. It also includes the encouragement of positive and critical attitudes towards change and enterprise.

Courses

Entry Requirement

  1. STPM : A minimum of Grade C+ (CGPA2.33) in any 2 subjects with a credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM Level
  2. UEC : 5 credits (Minimum Grade B)
  3. STAM : A minimum grade of Jayyid with credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM Level
  4. Diploma : Any qualification equivalent to Diploma in Finance, Banking or related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
  5. Foundation : A minimum CGPA of 2.50 and credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM Level
  6. Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia
  7. English Requirements : IETLS score of 6.0 OR its equivalent
