Behaviour & Disciplinary

  • Fighting or any kind of physical violence is NOT ALLOWED within the hostel compound.
  • Smoking, electric cigarettes and shisha are NOT ALLOWED in the rooms and hostel compound at all times.
  • Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages are NOT ALLOWED in the hostel room and compound at all times.
  • Possession and consumption of any prohibited drugs in the hostel compound or campus area is NOT ALLOWED.
  • Possession of weapon(s) or any other items considered dangerous which can be used to cause injuries or bodily harm is NOT ALLOWED in the hostel compound.
  • Vandalism is a very serious offence in Kolej MDIS Malaysia.
  • Gambling is STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED within the room and hostel compound. Students caught gambling will be severely dealt with and all gambling accessories will be confiscated without notice by the Hostel Management.
  • Viewing and possession of pornographic material (hard/soft copies) in the hostel are STRICTLY prohibited.
  • Parties or other social gatherings in the hostel complex are NOT PERMITTED without the prior consent of Hostel Management.
  • Noise level must be kept low especially after 10:30 pm to allow others the opportunity to study or sleep in These rule is to ensure a conducive environment for all students.
  • Students are PROHIBITED from climbing over the fence or wall to get in/out of the hostel compound. They must use the authorized entrances and exits.
  • Ball games, roller blades or skates and other gym equipment that are deemed infeasible by the Hostel Management are banned inside the hostel Any banned equipment found in the hostel compound will be confiscated.

Check-In

  • Check-in schedule
    Mondays to Fridays: 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • If any under circumstance students were to check in before or after working hours, a three (3) days written notice should be sent to Hostel Management prior to the arrival for necessary arrangement.
  • Students who arrive before or after working hours without the prior consent of Hostel Management will NOT BE ATTENDED.
  • Students are strongly encouraged NOT to check in before the specified check-in date.
  • Hostel Management does NOT GUARANTEE the availability of accommodations should students come in before the specified check-in date.
  • Assigned of rooms is at the discretion of the Hostel Management, request for rooms or a particular type of roommate by students will NOT BE ENTERTAINED.

Check-Out

  • Check out schedule
    Mondays to Fridays: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Students are to check-out all their personal belonging and vacate the room latest by 12:00 pm on the specified check-out date.
  • Hostel Management reserves the right to vacate the room without prior consent of students by transferring all their personal belongings to the store room should students FAIL to comply before 12:00 pm.
  • The Hostel Management is NOT liable for any damages and loss of items during the transfer process.
  • If temporary storage is required, student must pack their belongings in boxes, label them with name and student I.D no and be solely responsible for transferring the belongings to the storage venue.
  • Hostel Management is NOT liable for any damages and loss of items stored in the said venue.
  • Students who need to change the check-out date after the Termination Notice is issued to them, notify Hostel Management in writing within one (1) month of their termination date.

Rental

  • The rental fee is collected on a monthly basis.
  • The rental must be paid by the first week of every Failure to comply within 2 weeks after the due date will result in EVICTION from the hostel.
  • The rental is inclusive of WIFI, safety box, water and electricity.
  • Students are NOT PERMITTED to change rooms or sleep anywhere other than their own room without the consent of Hostel Management.
  • The Hostel Management reserves the right to revise the current rates from time to time by giving one (1) month’s advance notice.

Hostel Access Card

  • Each student will be given one access card for hostel.
  • Students are expected to be responsible for the access card and NOT ALLOWED to lend the access card to anybody under any circumstances.
  • Students are NOT ALLOWED to make any duplication of the access card.
  • Charges of RM 00 will be imposed for those who damage or loss the access card.

Cleanliness & Upkeep of The Hostel

  • Students are responsible for keeping their rooms clean and tidy at all Cleaning fees of RM 50.00 will be imposed for excessively dirty and unhygienic rooms.
  • Students must cover their mattresses with their own bed sheets at all times.
  • Shoes and slippers are NOT ALLOWED to be kept along with the hostel Such shoes if found will be removed by the cleaners.
  • Students are NOT ALLOWED to hang their clothes on the bannisters or at the window or Clothes found hanging in these places will be confiscated and disposed of accordingly.
  • Students whose standard of housekeeping is NOT ACCEPTABLE will be asked to rectify the situation.
  • All air conditioners, fans, light and electrical appliances must be switched off when students are not in the room or respective area.
  • Cooking is NOT ALLOWED in the room.
  • Common hostel furniture must NOT be moved into other rooms or from one hostel to another without the consent of Hostel Management.
  • Any damage or loss of hostel property must be reported immediately to the Hostel Students will be charged for any missing or damaged properties except damages incurred by normal wear & tear.
  • Posters, notes or pictures CANNOT be pasted on any part of the hostel compound.
  • NO nails, pins or screws knocked into the walls or doors of the rooms.
  • Students are expected to pay for the costs in cleaning; repairing or repainting of their room if they are not maintained in the conditions they were in at the beginning of the check-in except for normal wear and tear.
  • For safety reason, students are NOT ALLOWED to use candles and other flammable materials in the rooms.
  • Female students must dispose of their sanitary pads into the sanitary bins provided. Students caught throwing sanitary pads into toilet bowls will pay for the cost of repairs.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Students are requested to fill up a Maintenance form in the Hostel Management office in case of repair works are needed in the room.
  • If a maintenance staff has found that a student has deliberately damaged an item for fixture within the room, then he or she will be charged accordingly.
  • Handyman and contractors may enter rooms as and when necessary in the course of their duty under the directive of Hostel Management.

Electrical Appliances or Items

  • Equipment and connecting leads must be serviceable and in a safe condition.
  • Strictly NO cable running on the floor and from room to room.
  • Plugs must be wired in the correct manner and incorporate fuses of the correct rating.
  • A plug must supply only one (1) piece of equipment.
  • A total load on a wall socket must NOT EXCEED 13 Amps.
  • Items allowed for rooms: –

– personal computer
– laptop
– alarm clock table
– stand fan
– study table
– lampcharger

  • Items allowed in the pantry: –

– Small rice cooker
– Toaster
– Electric Kettle

Visitors or Guests

  • Visitors or guests are allowed to visit the students during visiting hours as follows: –
    Everyday(s): 9:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • It is the duty of the students to inform his/ her visitor(s) of the visiting hours and to advise them to leave no later than 9:00
  • Students found in the company of their visitor(s) including family members, relative friends and or any non-resident in the respective hostel outside the visiting hours will be evicted by the Security.
  • Visitors of the opposite sex, including parents, family members, relatives, friends and anyone staying inside/outside the hostel area is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED to enter the students’ room(s) at any time. This includes inside/outside the visiting hours.
  • Visitors including parents are NOT ALLOWED to stay overnight in the hostel rooms. Failure to comply will be charged and eviction from the hostel.

Security & Safety

  • Security will be operating 24 hours inside campus.
  • It shall be responsibility of the students to lock all doors at all times for the protection of their property and their roommates.
  • Students are responsible for the safety of their own All valuable items must be kept in a safety box provided.
  • Students are discouraged from having valuable items or large amounts of cash when leaving campus premises.
  • Any student, who finds his/ her roommate (s) missing for more than 48 hours, must report to the security officer This enables the Hostel Management to take immediate action if any untoward incident had taken place.

Pets

  • NO pets are allowed inside or around the hostel compound.

Parking

  • Parking facility is available at designated area.
  • Students who park their car or motorcycle in the campus will be at their own The hostel management will NOT be held responsible for any loss/ damages incurred by the student.
